Coccyzus erythropthalmus

The black-billed cuckoo is a New World species in the Cuculidae family. The scientific name is from Ancient Greek. The genus name, kokkuzo, means to call like a common cuckoo, and erythropthalmus is from eruthros, "red" and ophthalmos, "eye".
